Ford Econoline E-350 XLT (15 passenger) For over 30 years the E-Series has been the standard for 15-Passenger transportation, inexpensive and reliable this is a great solution for moving large groups of people and luggage/cargo/equipment at a very economical cost. Every vehicle has a video screen, power outlets, wireless headphones and a classy vintage PS2 game system which can also play DVDs. This vehicle is no longer manufactured and we will be slowly phasing this vehicle out of our fleet.
Ford Transit This is Ford's brand new 2015 replacement for the E-Series 15 passenger van. Our Transits seat 15 people, and are configured with the medium roof height. They are quite a bit more comfortable than the E-series, mainly due to the increased room in the passenger cabin.
Mercedes-Benz Sprinters 2500 model with 158"
/ 170" wheelbase, high roof, diesel engine.
All of our Sprinters come with a large number of amenities, which come standard with every vehicle: video screen, video game system, DVD playback, wireless headphones, WiFi internet, and 120v AC power outlets for your laptops and cell phone adapters. We offer four configurations:
The Captain Chair model has customized interiors with 6 reclining seats and a bench seat in the back. This configuration can
accommodate 9 people (including driver) comfortably [note: many configurations can seat up to 10 people]. We supply an X-box 360 with games and controllers in addition to the wireless headphones. There is a cargo hold in the back which offers approximately 180 cubic feet of storage.
Our Bench Seat model will comfortably seat up to 12 people (including driver). It comes with the factory bench seating (which is very comfortable, but please note that the rear passenger seats do not recline). This configuration is otherwise identical to the captain's chair model and also offers the X-box 360, and cargo hold of 180 cubic feet.
The Captain Deluxe is a new model we have started offering in 2015. It seats 10 people and offers an upgraded reclining captain's chair, an X-box One videogame console (pre-loaded with several games), a number of USB power outlets in addition to the AC power outlets, and a faster WiFi connection. Like the standard captain's chair and the bench seat model it has a cargo hold in the back.
The Executive Model seats 8 people total. It replaces the cargo hold with another row of captain's chairs and offers enhanced leg room. In addition it comes with a satellite TV receiver, so you can watch live TV in addition to DVDs and video games.
Do you allow your vans to go out of state?
Yes we do. You can travel to any of the 50 states and Canada. You
are also welcome to take our vans to Hawaii, but let us know, cause
we want to laugh our asses off.
Do you allow your vans into Mexico?
Can I pick the color of my van?
Yes! You can pick black.
Can I pick another color besides black?
Why would you want to do that?
How many seats are in the vans? Are they removable?
There are 4 rows of bench seats (in addition to the driver and front
passenger). They are removable and will pop out in just a couple minutes.
You are welcome to request removal of the two rear rows to make room
for your gear (We do not, however, allow removal of the front two
bench seats), but please make sure there is a seat belt for every
person riding in the van. Obviously this is very important!
In the captain's chair models there are four captains chairs, with one bench seat in the back, and the driver and front passenger seat in the front.
None of these seats are removable,
but there is a separate cargo hold for gear storage.
In our bench seat models there are three rows of bench seats.
These seats are much heavier, but they are removable, and if you need
them removed we are willing to find a way to meet your needs.
Discuss this with your Bandago agent for more information.
What are the requirements to rent a van?
To rent one of our self drive vehicles you must be 25 years of age
or older. You must have a valid driver's license and you must have
proof of current auto liability insurance in your name (company insurance
ok). Please note that in very specific circumstances we can occasionally
get a waiver for drivers under 25 years of age for an additional fee.
Please contact us for more information.
Can I fit my band's music equipment into the van?
Ford E-Series Van:
Every band is different, but your standard four piece band will have
no trouble storing their gear inside a Ford van if they remove the
rear two seats. This will leave seating for 6-8 people.
The Transits are great at moving groups of people with luggage, but they have an unusual seat configuration that makes them a little more challenging for bands. We can easily remove some seats, other seats are bolted in. In a pinch we can take those out too, but it's a bit time consuming, so we have preconfigured a portion of our fleet to be a good fit for Bands on short trips. For longer trips we recommend going with either the E-Series or the Sprinter, because the storage options are a bit more ideal for bands.
Due to the dedicated storage area the Mercedes-Benz
Sprinter offers even more storage space for
your gear, which in most cases will save you the time and
hassle of renting a trailer. The Sprinter is 100% the best way to go if you are a touring band.
Our gear won't fit inside the van, what should we do?
In our experience the vast majority of bands can fit their equipment
and luggage into the cargo space of a Sprinter without any need for a trailer. Most bands can also fit their equipment into an E-series van with the last two rows of seats removed. But if you are one of those special bands that carries a lighting rig or has gigantic stacks of gear, then you will be delighted to learn that we rent tow hitches for all of our vans (you do need to let us know in advance though).
So if you need more storage space, you can rent a
trailer from U-haul,
or any other reputable trailer rental
company, or you can bring your own trailer, and our vehicles can handle the job. Please note we do not
supply the ball mount and ball (due to variances in trailer height and tongue size),
but most trailer rental operators will have these for sale for low prices.
What kind of miles per gallon can I expect to get from the van?
Ford E-Series Vans:
We advise people to roughly estimate 12-15 miles
to the gallon. If you follow our advice (see
below) you can substantially improve this
mileage. We have had clients report getting
as high as 20 miles to the gallon.
These vans are very economical on fuel due
to the highly efficient Mercedes-Benz engine.
They can get as high as 25 miles to the gallon,
depending on model year, load weight, driving speed,
and road conditions.
How can I save money?
In addition to being the best van rental company,
we are also the least expensive. Still most
people going on tour are looking to save every
penny they can. We understand and sympathize,
that's why we started this business! There
are many things you can do to save money and
still successfully complete a nationwide tour.
Here are some things we recommend:
Drive the speed limit. In
addition to being substantially safer, there
is a 20% difference in fuel consumption between
65 and 80 MPH. This will add up to hundreds
of dollars saved over the course of a national
Have your booking agent plan your
shows as closely together distance-wise as
possible. If possible, play a couple
shows in the same area. This is a great way
to build an audience! Zigzagging across the
country not only adds to stress and wear on
the vehicle, it also adds to stress and wear
on the band! Poorly planned tours are significantly
more expensive in fuel consumption and mileage.
Plan your tours smart, and you will still
see all the same cities but for hundreds of
3. Take care of your van!
We ask all of our clients to change the oil
every 3000 miles (every 10k miles for the
Sprinters). This is so important to us that
we actually reimburse you for these oil changes
at the end of the tour! Just bring back your
receipts and we will credit your bill accordingly.
Also we highly reccomend you use our supplied
tire pressure gauges to make sure your tires
are properly inflated. A properly maintained
van will save you money and will insure a
successful tour! If you don't know how to
do these things our staff will be more then
happy to show you how. Just ask!
Do you allow one way rentals?
Yes! You can rent our vans for one way rentals between all of our locations. There is typically an extra fee to do so to cover our cost of moving vehicles around. These fees change often depending upon our
fleet disposition, so give us a call if you are doing a one way and we can
discuss your options with you. One ways between offsite locations can be arranged
for an additional delivery/pickup fee.
Can you deliver the van to me?
We can and will deliver anywhere in the United States
or Canada. Our delivery fees are typically all-inclusive and cover all costs including driver pay, fuel,
hotel and return airfare.
Do you rent to people who aren't musicians?
Of course! We have rented to countless families, churches, film
productions, corporations, governments, marketing companies, friends, sports teams, and many more.
Our mission is to serve anyone wanting to move groups of people on the ground with a higher level of comfort than what you typically get from a car rental company.
Of course we always will have a special place in our heart for touring musicians,
and will always make sure that we are doing everything we can to serve the
touring musician community with the best possible service at the lowest possible rates.
What is your cancellation policy?
Tours longer than three days require a non-refundable
30% deposit to reserve the vehicle. Tours
of three days or less require a non-refundable
deposit equal to one days rental. Tours cancelled
on the day of the reservation or afterwards
will be charged for the entire reservation.
What is your mileage policy?
Bandago includes 250 miles for every day of rental. So a 10 day rental would include 2,500 miles. This mileage allottment covers more than 90% of our customers. We do have to charge a little bit extra to clients driving a high number of miles on a per day basis, as it is increasing our maintenance cost while decreasing the vehicle's value. Additional miles will be charged a mileage fee on a per mile basis (most van are 35 cents a mile, although some vehicles may vary).
I would like to reserve one of your vans, what do I do?
Give us a call or send us an email. Usually
what we want to see is a copy of your tour
itinerary so we can get an estimate of how
many miles you will be traveling and how many
days you will be gone (All we need is a list
of the cities you will be visiting, in the
order you will be visiting them). Once we
get an idea of what your trip is like we will
give you an estimate so you will know what
your final total including all taxes will
be. When you have confirmed you want to rent
with us, we will take a credit card number
to guarantee your reservation for the van.
What is your breakdown policy?
We provide a 24-7 nationwide tow service.
We are extremely proactive when it comes to
getting repairs. You will not find a company
more committed to getting you moving again
What condition are the vans in?
All of our vans are late model vehicles
(typically two years old or less). Mileage on the vans will
vary due to the nature of our clientele
(some of our clients average 10k miles a month!).
Given the size of the vehicles, it is not uncommon
for our vans to have minor cosmetic dents, dings or
scratches. However all of our vehicles are inspected by
ASE certified mechanics on a regular (and frequent!) basis, and all of
our vehicles are rented clean, and in excellent running condition.
Do the vans come with video games?
Yes, all of our vans come with a healthy (or
unhealthy) supply of videogames.
Do the vans come with movies?
Due to the wide variance in tastes among our
clients, we do not provide DVD's, but you
are welcome to bring your own.
