Bandago MCP Server

AI agents can connect to Bandago using the Model Context Protocol to check availability, get live quotes and send customers a booking link with their trip already filled in. The customer finishes the booking and payment on bandago.com.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external services and data sources. By running an MCP server, Bandago allows AI agents like Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and others to look up our locations, check vehicle availability, and get rate quotes on your behalf, in real time.

Connect Your AI Agent

If your agent can set up its own connections (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and similar), just paste this prompt into it:

Connect to Bandago's van rental MCP server so I can check availability and get quotes. Fetch https://www.bandago.com/ai and configure the connection. No authentication is required.

In a chat app that supports custom connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT, add a connector with the URL https://www.bandago.com/mcp and no authentication.

How it works: This will connect your AI to Bandago so it can look things up for you in real time. Once connected, try asking things like "What vans are available in Nashville next weekend?" or "How much is a Sprinter in LA for March 5–8?"

Using Muse?

Muse can check which vans are available, quote exact prices with or without optional coverage, explain our coverage options, look up your existing reservation (with your confirmation number and the email on the booking), and give you a link to book on bandago.com. It can't take payment or create the reservation itself; you finish the booking and payment on bandago.com.

One-time setup, about a minute

  1. Say this to your Muse agent:
    Set up a custom API connector for Bandago: provider name bandago, API host www.bandago.com, authentication is an API key sent as a Bearer token. The MCP server is at https://www.bandago.com/mcp.
  2. Muse shows you a secure link. Open it and enter public as the API key. Our tools are public, so this isn't a secret; it just fills in the key field.
  3. That's it. Try asking:
    • "What 15-passenger vans are available in LA next weekend?"
    • "Quote me a Transit High Roof for a weekend in Charlotte."
    • "What's the difference between the coverage options?"
Good to know: Use the booking link exactly as Muse gives it to you; it has your trip filled in. Pickup and return times run from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM in 30-minute steps, and rentals are priced in whole 24-hour days.

Available Tools

These public tools require no authentication. They look things up and quote prices; they don't create reservations or take payment.

list_locations

Get all active rental locations with their addresses, phone numbers, and email.

list_rate_codes

Get the vehicle types we rent, with passenger capacity, fuel type, towing, and a short description of each.

check_availability

Check which vehicle types are available for specific dates and locations, each with a label such as "available" or "only a few left".

get_rate_quote

Get a full pricing breakdown including day rate, insurance options, mileage allowance, taxes, and grand total.

get_reservation_link

Generate a link to start a reservation on Bandago's website with dates and locations pre-filled. The customer picks the van and completes the booking and payment there.

explain_coverage

Explain our optional coverage (damage waivers, liability, personal accident, and THE WORKS bundle), with deductibles, limits, and where each is offered.

get_my_reservation

Look up a customer's own booking: dates, pickup location, vehicle, and totals. Needs the confirmation number and the email on the booking.

Rate limits: Public access allows about 120 requests an hour from each IP address. If you run a platform that serves many users from shared servers, email info@bandago.com for a partner API key. It is sent as a Bearer token, gets its own higher limit, and reaches the same public tools.
